It would cost $120 per square foot to sufficiently restore the home, the firm states in documents submitted with McDonough’s appeal. That would amount to some $600,000 total, CSEC said. Once renovated, the home appraised value would be about $400,000.
“This makes the renovation of the structure economically unfeasible,” CSEC states in its report. “Based on this assessment, demolition of the structure is the only economically viable alternative.”
